Good Business over the Christmas holidays

With great Summer weather and big visitor numbers, many of our café/restaurants and retailers have reported strong Christmas and holiday trade on the back of good growth in the local economy. The Umina Beach retail cen- tre performed particularly well following on from steady growth during 2013 and the establishment of major na- tional brands in West Street.

The Ettalong Beach village has seen excellent trade in the café/restaurant sector as new businesses add to the well established food/service trade in the local area. The Chamber expects further growth in Ettalong following on from the completion of the foreshore upgrade and the opening of the new café/ restaurant facility on the beachfront in mid-March. The Ettalong Beach Club has also reported strong sales over the Christmas period with new general Manager Bill Jackson extremely pleased with the Clubs performance in 2013.
